SHANNON HARRIS

Shannon Harris’ career spans the vast landscape of sound science. As an international DJ, musician, composer, anthropologist, ethnomusicologist, label owner, videographer, Qi Gong instructor, humanitarian, pro-activist, healer, sound scientist and Audio Pharmacologist™, he explores obscure territories, regions, genres, styles, and traditions through his work in the Healing Arts. Receiving a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1991 and a Music as Wellness certificate from the Berklee College of Music in 2020, his work bridges the dualities of unconventional futurism and indigenous traditionalism using sound energy. His journey in the fields of art, music, and research spans four decades, six continents, and numerous cultural and spiritual traditions.

He umbrellas his healing arts, sound science, energy medicine, and live entrainment performances under his unique brand, “Audio Pharmacology™/Frequency As A Pharmacy™”. His recent creation known as an Immersive Audio Songbook™ called “AfriFuTrinity: Quantum Cosmic Futures”, was selected by Carnegie Hall for their 2022 Afrofuturism Festival. In 2021, Harris innovated a futuristic healing performance arts experience entitled Sonic Air Improv©. Through Sonic Air Improv he was invited twice as a headliner for the OX-Bow School for Art and YogaCare’s 7th Anniversary fundraiser. Sonic Air Improv© explores the future of traditional sounds performed with futuristic none tactile movements and instruments.

Currently, Shannon is exploring the uses of generative music, brain/body entrainment, mindfulness, non-traditional instruments, neurodiverse curriculum and energy medicine to assist others with coping with societal, professional and personal mental and physical wellness.
